At Inca Trail Machu, sustainable travel is more than a philosophy—it’s our commitment. Wherever our adventures take us, we bring with us a responsible attitude that respects and benefits local communities, their cultures, and the environment. Our approach involves using public transportation, staying with local families, traveling in small groups, and educating others about sustainable tourism.
As a small company, we believe these steps can make significant differences in the lives of the local people we encounter. Our primary goal is to offer exciting and unique adventures while enriching the lives of both our travelers and the communities we visit.
Our main objective is to enrich people’s lives by providing interactive and unique trips that transcend prejudices, foster understanding, and create a more caring world. We offer an experience that lasts a lifetime, combining fun with a passion for responsible and sustainable travel, benefiting not only our travelers but also the locals, tour operators, hotels, and communities we engage with. With our experienced team and unwavering journey philosophy, we are committed to making a positive impact.
Inca Trail Machu actively supports the Peruvian Andean communities, particularly Patacancha near Cusco. Travelers have the opportunity to connect with local people, delve into their rich cultural history, and contribute to the local economies. In 2022, we successfully planted 10,000 native Queñua trees near Machu Picchu as part of our commitment to reforestation. Our goal is to plant 100,000 native trees in the Lares communities, and we invite you to join us in achieving this milestone.
Peru’s diverse landscapes are home to Andean glaciers, tropical beaches, arid deserts, Amazonian rainforests, and mountainous scrublands. Our reforestation project, located in the high Andes near Cusco, specifically in Rumira Sondormoyo in Lares, aims to plant 10,000 native trees to restore degraded soils, combat desertification, and provide additional income for the region’s inhabitants.
While we operate some trips independently, Inca Trail Machu often collaborates with reputable local operators who share our passion for the places they operate in. By working closely with these local partners, we contribute to the local economies in the areas we travel.
At Inca Trail Machu, our travel style fully appreciates and respects cultural diversity. We don’t shield you from the authentic experiences, cultural differences, and occasional challenges you might encounter. Our emphasis is on venturing into the real world and experiencing it fully. Please keep this in mind when choosing from our travel styles and trip options.
